Hello,
I'm currently the maintainer of the EuroBRAILLE driver for BRLTTY. If you
like, I can implement it for BRASS if it's not to hard.

Hello,
I noticed that in the description of Brass there is no mention of whether it
supports Braille displays from Blazie Engineering, Now part of Freedom
Scientific. Support of the Braille Lite 40 would be particularlly important
to me.
Thanks.

Hello!

I already ported the EuroBraille driver, but I can't test it. I would be
glad to get feedback because I have no idea if it works.

Hello!

I have uploaded a beta test version of brass - a Braille and speech server
for Linux.

Brass is a combination of a screen reader with speech output and a Braille
terminal driver like brltty. You can use speech and Braille or just one of
it. It does not need Braille hardware, it can be controlled by the
computer keyboard (to use this, a small kernel patch has to be applied).

Speech output is available with hardware synthesizers (Dolphin Apollo, IBM
Invofox) or with software through the soundcard. Supported languages are
English and German.

The code of brass is based on the brltty code. The idea of soft cursor
routing by screen attributes is from sbl, the SuSE Braille driver.

Supported Braille hardware is:

 - Alva (serial connection)
 - Baum Vario (should be work with Handytech, too)
 - Papenmeier
 - TSI
 - CombiBraille
